How to Sell Personal Training - Part 1 - Overcoming Objections & Being the Clients Hero

How to Sell Personal Training - Part 1 - Overcoming Objections & Being the Clients Hero

"Let Me Think About It"

How many times have you heard this from a possible client?

You just ended working your butt off, giving them a great first workout... They are in horrible shape and de facto need your help... And things went pretty good...

But when it's time to pull out the old credit card, they say "Let Me Think About it".

And you never hear from them again. If you see them at the gym, they try to avoid you. Awk- Warrrd! They will pull out their credit card to buy larger clothes and crappy food, but not to invest in their health? Argh!!!!!!! Well, here is the deal. You were probably de facto close, closer than you may think, but dropped the ball at the last minute. You don't have to lose momentum when you are so close to the conclude line and it does not have to turn into an awkward situation.

Here is how to sell personal training by overcoming objections:

Isolating any objections they have is crucial to conclusion the sales.

So make the possible client feel comfortable sufficient to tell you the actual truth about why they are just "thinking about it".

If they don't tell you, you can't help them make a decision, so get them to voice their objections right away.

Because the truth is, they have already view about it; they don't need more time to think. They have a definite objection to spending the money.

There are many factors when it comes to personal educator sales, most of them happened before you go to close the sale. If you gave them sufficient value, helped them a bunch, and uncovered their 'emotional reason' for buying, then the inquire will not be "If" they want to buy training, but "How Much" training they are going to buy!

Check out this tasteless scenario below for some tips and tools on what, exactly, to do the next time this happens to you. Don't let the possible client talk themselves out of investing in their health!

Potential Client: "I don't want to buy any sessions right now, I have to think about it."

Trainer: (mirror the posture and tone of voice)

"I wholly understand John/Jane!" (sit back in chair, put pen down, relax body language as to make possible client comfortable)" Working with a personal educator is a very important decision and that is why we are here today. But please, help me to understand? What is it that you are reasoning about John/Jane? Is it the amount of sessions or the price per session?"

*(Don't say a Word! You have just asked an important question, You Had good Let Them Answer!!!!! Doesn't matter how long it takes. You Speak.... You Lose!)*

Potential Client: "To be honest with you, it is a itsybitsy bit of both."

Trainer: "Well John/Jane if we can find the right amount of sessions, at the right price, would you be willing to commit right now?!?!"

Potential Client: "Yes!" (or "No!")
If the answer here is Yes, then congratulations! You have built sufficient value in the stock that you are offering and you have a good candidate to work with you! Now work with them to find a way to make it work for their budget. Possibly they can see you only 1-2x per week instead of 2-3x/week?

If the answer is No, then you have not built sufficient value into the stock that you are offering. You need to help people more while the 1st workout and show them that they will perform their goals if they effect your leadership.

Trainer: What is stopping you from investing in your health? Do you think it's not going to work? What are your concerns?

Potential Client: "I am concerned that"... Xyz concern

Now you have to address their concern. Make sure the concern is coming from them. If they say "I have to make sure my wife won't get mad at me for spending this money" spin it back on them and say "I am sure she will be proud of you for investing in your health, and deLighted to see the results that you get!"

So check it out, by getting them to voice their objection, you can help find a solution. Otherwise, you will lose the client and never hear back from them, never know what they were thinking, and never know how close you were to getting a new, awesome client.
Personal educator to the Rescue!

Here is the deal, when people first de facto start trying to get in shape, they don't know what they are missing out on. They may come in to lose 5 lbs, but in the process of working with you, lose 15lbs of fat, gain some muscle, look amazing, feel way more confident, be more energetic and inescapable at work etc etc.

But when they first walk in for that first session, they don't truly believe any of that. Don't let them miss out on a Huge opportunity to convert their life for the better, they just don't realize what they are missing out on. Sales for personal trainers is so important for this reason! You can't work on your client, and save them from their bad habits, if they don't buy!

Get them to voice their objections, and then overcome them, so you can help them see what life is meant to be and all that they are missing out on!

And that is how to sell personal training, expertly and with passion. Please leave some comments, sales for personal trainers is a essential skill that most trainers don't know.

What questions do you have? What do you know about how to sell personal training?

Is Guitar Hero Going Country? Plus - Are The Beatles coming To Guitar Hero?

First it was just a suggestion- but I think many people might start to listen.

The Cmt people had an idea that Guitar Hero should have a country version-and why not?

They seem to be doing fine cranking out copies of their primary game-to the satisfaction of millions of fans colse to the world. This game truly is generational-grandparents, tweens, and bar-hoppers like love it. So, why not spread the love a little and adopt a country-themed game?

The Next Step Is A Two-Step

C'mon! It won't be That lame- Johnny Cash, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, these guys can rock- and so could you. The only suspect rock exists is a meld of blues, country and old boogie woogie...so give country someone else chance.

Get Yourself Prepared

If Gh goes country, and you might have to start getting into that scene, dig the work that Rick Rubin did with Johnny Cash on some of the last albums he did. The Beatles advent To Guitar Hero With Beatles Edition?

Recent articles have pointed out the rumor that The Beatles might get their own Guitar Hero treatment. Modern statements by Beatles-catalogue owner Martin Bandier stated that he was in talks about the idea and that he "liked the idea". Since he owns the majority of the Beatles songs, this will probably happen.

The Bajaj Pulsar 220cc Dts Fi review Vs the New Hero Honda Karizma R 225 review

In our present of the Bajaj Pulsar 220cc, it has come in close competition with the Hero Honda Karizma R 225cc, but I can say that it tried to win but did not. The main point to be noted is that the Pulsar 220 Dts Fi did not have a great brand ambassador as its competition had, perhaps Bajaj should have spent a exiguous more money on developing the brand image compared to the time and money invested in the technology and design.

Pulsar 150 is a great hit, I agree, but it does not mean that its flagship model, the high end bike should go by the same name and only differ by 3 number. Imagine what if Karizma was name Cbz 223, does not sound that good right?

The Hero

Pulsar 220cc is a great bike in itself, with manly broad rear tires, sporty looks, high displacement engine, digital console in the dash board. The main noticeable highLight of the bike is the rear view mirror which are designed as in foreign sports bikes.

The Bajaj Pulsar 220cc Dts Fi review Vs the New Hero Honda Karizma R 225 review

People have reported that the mileage comes nearby 30 kmpl. But citizen investing so much in such a bike would not care much about mileage, they will fill the tank when it gets empty and I don't think they will be doing calculations!

Bajaj Pulsar 220cc Dts Fi is a great buy if and only if you do not like Karizma for some reason. Karizma was the first one to set trends in India in terms of digital consoles, alloy wheels and sport front, it is still the best bike in India. Comparing the two bikes, Karizma wins in terms of quality, looks, execution and pride of ownership.

The Hero Archetype in Hollywood Movies

An orphaned boy was raised by his take care of parents. One day, a tragic incident killed the kind join that had taken care of him. The grieving young man embarked on a journey to fight evil. He was then trained by a special educator that taught him spiritual values. The young man was ready to face the evil overlord, only to found out that his enemy was none other than his own biological father. Sounds familiar? Of course.

Finding patterns in Hollywood movies are not hard. Like myths, tales, and folklore, movies often repeat the same basic storyline over and over. The basic pattern of the character's story, personality, or behavior has psychological explanations.

The Hero

Carl Gustav Jung (1875 - 1961) developed the understanding of psychological archetypes. Archetype is an customary model of a person, ideal example, or a prototype upon which others are copied, patterned, or emulated. Archetype served as a fastener that everyone can recognize. Some archetypes often appeared in stories, such as, The Child archetype, The Hero, The Great Mother, The Wise Old Man/Woman, The Trickster, The Devil, The Scarecrow, and The Mentor. Archetype as a model of person, personality, or behavior is easy to spot in Hollywood movies. In example, The Hero Archetype.

The Hero Archetype in Hollywood Movies

The character explained at the beginning of the report is Luke Skywalker that appeared in Star Wars Trilogy, and he possessed traits that can recognize him as The Hero archetype.

In his book, The Hero With A Thousand Faces, Joseph Campbell (1904 - 1987) identified an archetypal plot line within ancient myths that told the same recurring story about The Hero as the main subject. These characters usually supervene these patterns:

- Born with unusual circumstances. The Hero is often born into royalty, or in the time of danger.

- In one point in The Hero's life, he leaves his family or land, and lives with other people.

- The Hero is complicated in an event that leads to an adventure or quest. The event is often traumatic.

- The Hero has a special weapon only he can wield.

- The Hero found a supernatural help along his adventure.

- The Hero must prove himself many times while this adventure or quest.

- The Hero experiences atonement with the father.

- When The Hero dies, he is rewarded spiritually.

We like to recognize ourselves as The Hero character in a movie, that's why seeing an example of this archetype in Hollywood movies are relatively easy. Of course, the character doesn't all the time have to meet all of the criteria mentioned above to be classified as The Hero archetype. A lot examples of The Hero archetype, of course, can mostly be found on superhero movies. Superhero movies are currently flooding the silver screen, symbolizing hope and return of the ideals back in the society. A superhero is seen as a character that will make things right, and the audience all the time love them.

Examples of The Hero archetype in superhero movies are Superman, Spider-Man, Batman, and Iron Man. In other movies, there are Aragorn (The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy), Indiana Jones, John Connor (Terminator), and Harry Potter. These characters had proved themselves as a true hero character through their dedication to undergo pain and sorrow for the good of many, and for themselves.

Although The Hero archetype is not puny to operation and superhero movies, most of the samples we could find are mostly from the two genres. Maybe, because it is easier to achieve as a hero in a condition that demands a lot of operation and dynamics.

Archetype is a part of our social consciousness. By experiencing the story as The Hero archetype, we see ourselves fighting evil and bringing peace to society. Although the recurring patterns may make the audience bored, The Hero character still plays an important part. They forge distinct values in the audience and reminds them that good things are still worth fighting for. Maybe not by killing evil overlord or slaying dragons, but there are a lot of ways to be a hero. And we can all be one.

Hero's Journey, Screenwriting, Story structure - The Myth of the Flawed Hero

The Hero's Journey is the template upon which the cast majority of prosperous screenplays are built upon. Films as diverse as Gladiator (2000), Million Dollar Baby (2004), Raging Bull (1980) and Scarface (1983) were all constructed around the Hero's Journey Template.

There is an discussion that the flawed hero is the exquisite hero. That to make the hero three dimensional, human ailments and weaknesses must be present.

The Hero

The fact it that this is just one of those myths. It all depends on your story.

Hero's Journey, Screenwriting, Story structure - The Myth of the Flawed Hero

There are various types of hero: a) the good, willing hero (Star Wars, 1977), b) the good, unwilling hero (Shawshank Redemption, 1994), c) the anti-hero (Raging Bull, 1980), d) the villain (Goodfellas, 1990) etc.

All of the above are naturally some of the potential hero archetypes: you choose which one is relevant for your story.

The thing to remember is not either the hero is flawed or not, but that s/he has an outer, inner and romantic challenge. For example, in Star Wars (1977), Luke gets to destroy the Death Star (outer challenge), learn the ways of the force (inner challenge) and win over Leia (romantic challenge).

The Man in the seeing Glass! The Conquering Hero!

As the arresting yellow sun

climbs over the mountains

The Hero

and winks at the green valley below,

The Man in the seeing Glass! The Conquering Hero!

blue children play among the flowers.

As I float peacefully on a calm blue sea,

enjoying the starLight

dancing all around me!

Rainbow creatures poke

their heads' above the water,

and gaze at me adoringly.

But do they see the real me?

or do they only skim the surface

like a dog sniffing a bone?

Seeing the face in the mirror

but not the one standing here alone!

When the face in the mirror is mistaken

for the one gazing into the mirror,

it's time to smash the mirror

and Set The Real Man Free!

I'm so dissimilar now,

that when I look back

on the man I used to be,

that man seems like a dream!

It's like a butterfly

looking back at its previous life as a caterpillar,

crawling along the ground like a grub

when now it can fly!

I feel sorry for that person,

sometimes I feel joy, sometime I feel shame!

Sometimes I have to shake my head

in disbelief, at some of the crazy things

that man was willing to do

to accumulate "love" from others!

That was before I discovered that I'm the conquering Hero
he was Seeking To Love Him All The Time!

Krishna - The Hero Of The Hindu Epic Mahabharat

Kans was the king of the pastoral community, living in the land on whether side of the Kalindi river, now called Yamuna, at Mathura. He was an usurper, having dethroned his own father, Ugrasen, whom he kept in captivity. He loved his sister Devky very dearly and married her off to Vasudev. After the wedding ceremony, the young concentrate were seated in a chariot and Kans himself drove the chariot to leave them at their house, when a voice was heard, warning the king that Devky's eighth child would kill him.

Kans got up and drew his sword to kill her then and there, but her husband pleaded for mercy, gift to hand over every baby born to her, to Kans. So the King kept them in jail. As soon as a baby was born, it was taken by the ruthless Kans and its head banged on a rock. Thus seven of Devky's sons were killed.

The Hero

The next one was black in colour, something unknown among the community. Somehow, it was surreptitiously carried off to the other bank of the river, which was in spate, but receded when Vasudev approached it, and was located by the side of Yashoda, the wife of Nand, and her daughter brought back and shown to Kans.

Krishna - The Hero Of The Hindu Epic Mahabharat

"It is a girl. Spare its life," pleaded its mother. But Kans took no opening and threw it on the rock. It slipped off his hands and flew away, towards the heavens, not before warning the King that his killer is already resting in Gokul, Nand's village! Kans immediately took measures to locate this boy, who escaped from his prison, and kill him by hook or by crook; but all his efforts failed.

Yashoda had already one son, born to her the day Vasudev brought the black boy called Krishna, meaning black. Both the boys grew up as her sons, but they were Poles apart in temperament and behaviour. Balram, the true son, was forthright and innocent, while Krishna was mischievous and very cunning, all the time smiling and playing his flute which attracted the women of the village, who came to him at night and enjoyed sex with him.

When the boys, Balram and Krishna grew up and came to know of the misdeeds of Kans, they broke straight through the well guarded gates of Kans' palace, threw him out and killed him. The kingdom was restored to Ugrasen.

Rugmini, a maiden of the village, fell in love with Krishna and they privately met, went away and were married. Rugmy, her brother and Jarasandh, other superior King, attacked Krishna several times; in the end, they fled to Dwaraka, where Krishna located for good.

At the invite of a Satyabhama's father, whose high-priced gem Syamanthakam was lost, but recovered by the heroic fight of Krishna, he married her. The two wives, living as neighbours, hated each other; it took all the skills and tact of their husband, to keep the two in good humour.

During Mahabharat war, in which the whole north Indian Kings were divided into two rival groups, supporting Pandavas and Kauravas, both descendants of the same Vyas, Krishna supported the Pandavas, they being connected to him.

Mahabharat War

Imagine a nuclear war in the middle of India and Pakistan. After the war, all able bodied men were killed.Only widows and children remained. A blooming cultural centre in Asia collapsed and the dark age set in.

The war described in the epic Mahabharat is nothing short of it. In plot, characterisation and vivid description, there is nothing in the world to rival this voluminous book, in verse, believed to be written by Ved Vyas, who was suffering from a dirty skin ailment, but was asked to mate the Queens of Indraprastha, in Delhi, as their husband was impotent.

The first one complete her eyes because of her revulsion, during intercourse, and the son born was blind. The next one kept her eyes open, but was mentally so tortured that her son's skin was bleached. The maid gladly agreed and she was blessed with a son, well versed in philosophy, politics and had great sense of righteousness.

The children of both Dhritarashtr, the blind and Pandu the white-skinned, hated their cousin brothers from early childhood, finally resulting in war, which could have been averted, had Krishna wanted. On the other hand, along with the black woman Draupaty, he actively interfered in fanning the flames of hatred. Gandhary knew all things and in the battle field, where all her one hundred sons lay dead, she cursed Krishna: you too will suffer, as I do now.

Two instances need focussing. It was a war like a cricket match, to begin every day at a fixed time and to stop at sun set. An unarmed warrior will not be attacked.

The Pandava brothers would visit their elders, who were on their enemy's side, to carry their condolences, after the day's fight was over.

When, both sides were assembled on whether side of the battle field at Kurukshetra in Haryana, Arjun the hero asked his charioteer Krishna to steer it towards the centre of the field. When he saw his elders and Guru Dronacharya on the opposite side, he wondered why they should fight each other. Krishna argued with him and, in the end, he used his magical Powers to brow beat him.

When Karna's chariot sank in the ground and he was trying to extricate it, Krishna told him to release his arrow without a moment's delay, as he would never get a opening again. Had Arjun known that Karn was his brother, born before his mum married his father, a fact well known to both Bhishma and Krishna, he would have refused to fight any more. As it was, like a bowler using his skill when the batsman, was tying his shoe lace, the cowardly hero of the battle killed his own brother in the most shameful episode of the war!

Krishna witnessed his children fighting among themselves. Old and tired, he was resting in the forest, when an arrow hit his foot.

He never recovered from the wound; perhaps, he did not desire it.

The Joker - Hero Slayer, Hero Maker

Just when you think you have seen the most comic book hero movie of all time, it gets displaced soon adequate which makes you pause and say, "I notion I've seen it all...."

The up-to-date Batman tale elicits such a reaction it is so philosophically rich thanks to the character of the joker. The up-to-date Batman movie is something that as never been done before. This movie is unapologetically dark and gritty; it's cinematography consistently sticking to dark gray tones throughout. If you are expecting a conventional hero movie where all the protagonists get away unscathed prepare to be disappointed it won't happen so here. This time our heroes are battered, bruised and nearly broken if not dead thanks to....the joker (again).

The Hero

This is a psychologically heavy film and it's borrowing from silence of the lambs is so determined but it is still worth the Watch, because the same elements in silence is reproduced and applied to our iconic heroes batman and joker resulting in a huge success. Here, the joker evilly lets it all out, much to the disquiet of batman and all the good law abiding citizens of Gotham. Throughout the film one would be compelled to ask more than once if the joker is really truly the bad guy or is the bad guy the hypocrisy that resides within civilized population in times when well things are civilized. One would even be compelled to ask if the bad guy is really Batman. This is how cannily the joker will manipulate you in the film. However, that would be the conventional train of notion this film wants to lead you into so Watching this film requires higher thinking and the ability to glimpse into the inner workings of the sinister mind of the joker.

The Joker - Hero Slayer, Hero Maker

The cast are all veterans in portraying complicated characters, Christian Bale (American Psycho), Maggie Glynehaal (The Secretary) and Heath Ledger (Brokeback Mountain) and they all gave a memorable performance. The best execution in the film goes to Heath Ledger as the Joker hands down totally eclipsing our dark knight. The infer for this is his flamboyantly evil character and his auspiciously philosophically rich dialogue he can sink his teeth into at nearly every wee of his appearance. Truly the most memorable lines in the film are uttered by those characters other than batman. Batman is so eclipsed they should have renamed the film "The Joker".

But really the main point of the film is to make the Joker as some sort of catalyst for events to take in their toll while Batman and the other good guys are in the sidelines reacting to his machinations agreeing to their true nature and so the infer for the Joker's centrality. This film successfully brings our heroes closer to humanity than ever before as we see them break under pressure. This film offers a great exploration of good and evil, and the types of evil population are capable of. But its richest offering to the comic world is solving the enigma of the relationship in the middle of Batman and Joker, because the joker is no conventional crime lord here. To the joker there is a higher Power than wealth or gold and to those who see only that shame on you to the joker there is a higher Power and that is very simple: to play god among men, testing them over and over again, while men like Batman really have no option but to triumph in the end.

The Hero with a Thousand Faces

The Hero with a Thousand Faces

“I have returned to no other book more often since leaving college than this one, and every time I discover new insight into the human journey. Every generation will find in Hero wisdom for the ages.”
— Bill Moyers

“In the three decades since I discovered The Hero with a Thousand Faces, it has continued to fascinate and inspire me. Joseph Campbell peers through centuries and shows us that we are all connected by a basic need to hear stories and understand ourselves. As a book, it is wonderful to read; as illumination into the human condition, it is a revelation.”
— George Lucas

“Campbell’s words carry extraordinary weight, not only among scholars but among a wide range of other people who find his search down mythological pathways relevant to their lives today....The book for which he is most famous, The Hero with a Thousand Faces [is] a brilliant examination, through ancient hero myths, of man’s eternal struggle for identity.”
— Time

“In the long run, the most influential book of the twentieth century may turn out to be Joseph Campbell’s The Hero with a Thousand Faces.”
— Christopher Vogler

So what is "Hero?" Campbell is a comparative mythologist, and the original title was "How to Read a Myth." While scholarly in nature, "Hero" is not a formal scholarly paper and should not be read as such. Instead, it falls in the realm of literature. Campbell was awarded the National Institute of Arts and Letters Award for Contributions to Creative Literature for "Hero." As a scholar, he was particularly proud of this fact. While the book is not necessarily an easy read, it was written for the general public. It's difficulty may account for the "snooze factor" some reviewers attribute to it. "Hero" is a broad survey of what is similar about the world's mythologies, remarkable in breadth for its length. Rather than focus on what makes us different, as most comparative religion scholars do, he chose to focus on what makes us similar. If this interests you I suggest you read it. If after you are finished you wish for more depth, I suggest you try his four volume series "Masks of God."
